Jog-a-thon Information
Andrus Elementary PTA is excited to introduce the Jog-a-thon. This event unites the school in the spirit of outdoor physical fitness, and earns money to fund an exciting school addition for next year. It will take place on Friday, May 12th, and each grade will have 30 minutes to jog. All participants will receive water and a snack at the end!
The goal for this fundraiser is $9,000. With the money we raise, we plan to purchase a Free Book Vending machine filled with books that each student will be able to choose from on his/her birthday! Each lap students complete during the jog-a-thon will also count towards student Mighty Milers goals! If the students together reach the fundraising goal of $9,000, they will all earn a school-wide root beer float party AND a DJ during lunch recess! If the students earn $5,000, they will earn a DJ during lunch recess!

DETAILS AT A GLANCE:
Friday, May 12th, 2023 in Hobble Creek Park adjacent to Andrus Elementary School
Each grade level will have 30 minutes to run the Mighty Milers loop (laps count toward year totals)
All participants will enjoy our DJ’s hype music during the run plus water and healthy snack at the finish
All participants will earn a free donut coin from Mojo's Donuts & Ice Cream and can "take their moms to Mojos" for Mother's Day!
Run bibs generously provided by Bandanna’s Running featuring the school-wide Starry Night mosaic
Event unites the school community in the spirit of physical fitness in the fresh air and sunshine
Funds raised are designated toward the purchase of a book vending machine (students receive a book of their choosing on their birthday/half birthday- it’s been a hit at other schools)!
The school’s goal for the fundraiser is $9000, the amount required to purchase the book gift system
If we raise $5000, students will enjoy DJ-provided music at a recess as a prize
Full goal met? Students will enjoy music at recess plus a root beer float party to celebrate
Remember, all donations to the Andrus PTA are tax-deductible

TIMELINE OF EVENTS:
OBTAIN PLEDGES APRIL 28 - MAY 11:
Students ask family, friends, and neighbors to pledge a flat amount or a per-lap donation. No pledge is too small, even pennies count towards our school-wide goal!
RUN/JOG/WALK FRIDAY, MAY 12:
Students have a blast logging laps with friends, teachers and parents! Remember, each lap counts toward Mighty Miler totals for the year. Our DJ will bring the volume and keep us going for the 30 minute session.
